OUR SUSTAINABILITY FIRST APPROACH

SELECTING
THE AREA

We divide the area into 35 lots and restrict the harvest to one single lot per year. That means the lot we harvested in 2022 will only be available for new harvest by the year 2057, when new, stronger trees will have grown.

LIMITING
THE HARVEST

From an area as big as football field, we only harvest from 4 to 6 trees, leaving the forest environment nearly untouched. There's no cleared area whatsoever.

PICKING
THE TRESS

Forest engineers pick these 4 to 6 trees by hand, always opting for the mature ones, that have already seeded the forest floor and are no longer productive. By removing them, a space is opened in the canopy of leaves, alowing for the sun to come in and help new trees grow.

Every Black Label board goes through a careful kiln drying process that uses an optimal temperature control system to increase its strength and structural performance. By hardening the cell walls of the wood decking and cladding products, we increase the stability and reduce post installation movement like warping, twisting or bowing.
